Welcome to Nerijada! The fun little characters will help you get acquainted with the past of the westernmost Lithuanian region. Bruce the Moose, Clarissa the Crow and their friends have plenty of adventures and travel through time to the most fascinating pages of the history of the Curonian Spit.
You too can travel to the magical world of Nerijada, inspired by the history of the Curonian Spit, as you browse the seven comic books. Follow the routes Bruce the Moose takes in an interactive map, visit the playroom, answer the questions about the history and culture of the Curonian Spit. Experiment and discover the Curonian Spit!
Along with the characters, you will visit the most prominent periods of the history of the Curonian Spit, see the phenomena that shaped the local identity. You will meet the stone age settlement of Nida, the way of the post along the Curonian Spit, the daily life of the local fishermen, the Nida artists colony and the Nida Gliding School, as well as the Soviet time when the current structure of the Neringa towns was established. You’ll make a final stop near the symbol of Independent Lithuania, the Oak of Freedom that grows in the center of the Nida town. You’ll meet the most famous people who lived or worked in the Curonian Spit: Professor Adalbert Bezzenberger, the Prussian Queen Luise, the photographer Robert Minzloff, the writer Thomas Mann, the painter Erns Mollenhauer, the artist Eduardas Jonušas and others.

“Nerijada: 7 Stories from Nida” is an innovative project of cultural promotion that involves museum specialists, historians, archaeologists, artists, communications and technology professionals. The rich history of the Curonian Spit is presented in the comic books drawn by the artist Ula Šimulynaitė, along with professional sound, an interactive map, educational games in Lithuanian, English and German.
The project was initiated and is carried out by the Museums of Neringa, and funded by the Lithuanian Council of Culture. The aim of the project is to use the modern tools and technologies in order to attractively and convincingly present the history of Neringa and the Curonian Spit, to educate the society about the protection of cultural heritage and cultural ethics, to increase the continuous accessibility of the services in the fields of culture and arts to everyone who is interested.
